THE LATEST FROM GUATEMALA

This year, we worked to bring you harvest updates and more through our Virtual Origin Trip (VOT) due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. We saw the harvest gear up in February, everyone worked hard all spring long to the start of shipping season. With the harvest long gone and the Dry-mill almost finishing its first year in operation we turn back to the coffee plants for post-harvest upkeep.

The coffee plants have produced their annual flowers, and farmers begin their cycle of farm maintenance anew. What's next for our producer partners and our agronomists in Huehuetenango?

During the rainy season, farmers across the country will begin to apply fertilizers to the plants, as well as pruning their trees and planting new trees on their farms. This year, our sister export company La Central de Café will be helping farmers with a fertilizer distribution project, and our agronomy team will focus on leading workshops that focus on these topics. The team is also working on collecting producer data; this data is key to providing our clients with traceability information about every coffee we sell.

The harvest was a little later than usual this year due to weather, and we are still working hard to mill and ship all our coffees to roasters around the world. Right now, as coffees continue to land at all our warehouses, it's the perfect time to be in touch with us about 2021 coffees. You can find our offer lists below, and please reach out to your sales rep if you want to request samples!

THANK YOU FOR FOLLOWING ALONG WITH ALL OUR HARVEST UPDATES FROM GUATEMALA THIS YEAR!
